Comedy Classes
We’re more than just a live comedy venue. We’re also a training center. We offer classes in Improv, Stand-up, and Sketch. And, we have workshops with some of the best guest instructors.

Who we are
(…and who we were)
The Oasis Comedy Theatre was actually born years ago, under a different name. In 2010, we opened the Salt City Improv Theatre in a run-down mall, in Syracuse NY. Over the years, we grew into a successful theater company. During that time, we founded Salt City Improv, Inc…a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3), that was responsible for producing our shows, special events, and guest workshops.
In 2020, some of you may recall this small thing that happened called the global pandemic…and the world shut down. Our venue wasn’t able to reopen because the mall permanently closed it’s doors. But, Salt City Improv, Inc continued to produce shows and classes online. When things began to reopen, our remaining teams performed shows around the area and at festivals.
Which brings us to 2025. We found this cool building in Oneida, NY…and are reopening our venue. A short drive from Syracuse, Rome, and Utica. With a new look, new location, and new name…but, with the same level of stellar entertainment and comedy classes. So, here we are, folks: The Oasis Comedy Theatre.
